Abstraction Attraction with Acrylics
I like to experiment with colors and textures. Watering down acrylics or adding mediums to it. What can I come up with? I like to challenge myself in order to create something that's different. I am a unique artist and can be set apart from different artist. One of the things I enjoy doing is letting my paint dry a little and manipulate it. You can create different textures this way as well. I love abstract- I'm constantly asking myself. "How can I interpret things in my way? This is my thought process. I also challenge myself in creating depth to my pieces. |
Alcohol Inks
Working with Alcohol inks is challenging and rewarding at the same time. The challenge is to be able control the movement of the alcohol and get the desired composition, sometimes without mixing the colors on the canvas. Other times mixing the colors is the desired outcome. Not to mention that when you are using a hair blower or heat gun the alcohol evaporates fast and leaves the color pigments on the canvas. Good thing for that alcohol, when applied you can rework your design. My favorite thing about alcohol is that I can choose to have lighter colors by adding more alcohol and diluting the pigments or keep the colors intense. This process takes a long time to figure out! |
Jackson Pollock Inspired
I was inspired by Jackson Pollock and his process. I wanted to be able to create my own style using some of his techniques. My main focus was to create a background that was as much part of the painting as the splatter on top. The splattered was purposely made directional and elongated splatter strokes. The combination of colors create contrast and depth. |
